MOLLY ROBBINS
Molly Robbins is proud to serve as Director of Bands at the Richardson West Arts and Technology Magnet in Richardson, Texas. Mrs. Robbins graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and was a member of the flute studio under Dr. Lisa Garner-Santa. During her academic career at Texas Tech, she performed in the Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. Christopher Anderson and the Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Keith Dye (her father) and Professor Duane Hill. Mrs. Robbins was also a member of the Texas Tech Women’s Chorale as well as the Goin’ Band from Raiderland. In 2012, she had the honor of performing with the Texas Tech Flute Choir at the National Flute Association Convention.
Prior to her appointment at West Junior High School, Mrs. Robbins served as Associate Director of Bands at both Westwood JH in Richardson ISD and Mason JH/HS in Mason ISD. Bands under her direction have received the UIL Sweepstakes award and other top awards and honors at festivals and contests around the hill country. In 2017, Mrs. Robbins was the recipient of the WWJH PTA's Golden Apple award. In addition to teaching band, she was also the founder and director of the Mason Glee Clubs at both the junior high and high school. Mrs. Robbins’ professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educator’s Association and Tau Beta Sigma. She remains connected to her alma mater and has been on staff with the Texas Tech Band & Orchestra Camp and Middle School Band Camp for many years. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Robbins likes to spend time with her husband Josh, spend money on clothes she doesn't need, read and watch reruns of Seinfeld. |
ESTELLE WEISE
Estelle Weise is proud to serve as the Assistant Director of Bands at the Richardson West Arts and Technology Magnet in Richardson, Texas. Before arriving in Texas, she earned a Bachelors of Music Education and a Bachelors of Music Industry from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. During her undergraduate career she studied clarinet with Mr. Wilbur Moreland and percussion with Dr. John Wooton. She held memberships in the USM Pride of Mississippi Marching Drumline, the USM Steel Pan Orchestra, Southern Arts Pro Musica, and the USM Wind Ensemble conducted by Dr. Thomas Fraschillo. Mrs. Weise also toured extensively with the Carillon Handbell Choir, under the direction of Dr. Larry Smith, and has performed at National Seminars and conferences in the United States, as well as international festivals in Europe and Japan.
Mrs. Weise continued her career at the University of Southern Mississippi and received a Masters of Music Education in 2005. As a graduate student she studied with Dr. Steven Moser, Dr. Gary Adam, and Dr. Thomas Fraschillo, and served as a Graduate Assistant for the University Bands. Mrs. Weise’s professional affiliations include: Pi Kappa Lambda Music Society, an honorary membership in Tau Beta Sigma, the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Handbell Musicians of America. She is currently the Assistant Director of the Brookhaven Handbell Ensemble at Brookhaven Community College. Mrs. Weise enjoys teaching young musicians and providing students with positive musical experiences. By incorporating the latest technology into the band curriculum, she strives to challenge the musical ability and creativity of her students. |
